Is it hard to talk with your former partner about the things you must discuss?

Are your children brought into your conflicts and made unhappy?

Are you worried about short term and long term arrangements?

Do you feel you are going to need help to make plans for the future?

Family mediation can help with these problems. It can also save you money.

Services: Family Mediation

Family mediation enables people involved in family breakdowns or disputes to sort out arrangements between themselves, with the help of trained mediators. Where children are involved, their future can be planned for.

Usually each person is seen separately by a mediator. Joint sessions can then be arranged in which mediators act as impartial third parties, helping people to exchange ideas and information, and explore feelings.

Children, if involved, do not usually attend mediation sessions. However, they can be consulted if parents and mediators feel it would be appropriate. The sessions are entirely confidential, unless it appears that a child is at risk.

Family mediation can help to resolve:
  • how to separate
  • how children will spend time with parents (contact arrangements)
  • where children will live (residence arrangements)
  • whether and how children will see new partners and grandparents
  • disagreements between family members of all ages.
Our service also offers 'coaching' for clients working with solicitors, along with counselling if required.
